Kuwait Launches New E-Visa System to Boost Tourism, Business, and Regional Connectivity

Kuwait has introduced a new electronic visa (e-visa) platform as part of its national digital transformation initiative. Operated under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior, the system aims to simplify travel procedures and enhance global connectivity. The platform is expected to benefit tourists as well as expatriate Bangladeshi entrepreneurs living across the Gulf region.

Four Types of Visas Available Through the E-Visa Portal

The new system offers four categories of visas: Tourist, Family, Business, and Official.

1. Tourist Visa (Valid for 90 Days)

Allows foreign visitors to stay in Kuwait for up to 90 days.

Ideal for travelers exploring Kuwait’s cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and leisure attractions.

2. Family Visit Visa (Valid for 30 Days)

Enables expatriates residing in Kuwait to invite their family members for up to 30 days.

Makes family reunions easier and more convenient.

3. Business Visa (Valid for 30 Days)

Designed for entrepreneurs, business representatives, and professionals.

Suitable for attending meetings, seminars, exhibitions, or investment negotiations in Kuwait.

4. Official Visa

Issued to diplomats and government officials attending international conferences or bilateral meetings in Kuwait.

Requires an official invitation from the Kuwaiti government.

How to Apply

Applicants must complete the visa process through the official Ministry of Interior online portal, which reduces paperwork and streamlines approval procedures.

A Major Step in Kuwait’s Digital Transformation

This initiative aligns with Kuwait’s broader vision to modernize public services and position the country as a key hub for global tourism, investment, and diplomatic engagement.
Additionally, the e-visa system complements the upcoming “GCC Grand Tour Visa”, a much-anticipated project that will soon allow travelers to visit multiple Gulf countries using a single unified visa.

A New Opportunity for Bangladeshi Entrepreneurs

Lutfur Rahman Mukhai Ali, President of the Kuwait-Bangladesh Business Council, stated that this initiative could help build a strong Bangladeshi business network in the Middle East. He emphasized that the new platform can open doors for Bangladeshi products to enter larger Gulf markets.

Many believe the e-visa system will further strengthen regional connectivity and create new opportunities in tourism, trade, and investment across the Middle East.
